Three photos from a brief photoessay in Der Spiegel about the island where Alexander Selkirk was marooned, forming the basis for Defoe's later novel Robinson Crusoe.
The location (zoomable satellite image here) is in the Juan Fernandez archipelago off the coast of Chile. From the photos, it doesn't look like a bad place to spend four years (assuming you could get internet access via satellite).
