This was a great movie when it was released 40 years ago, and it still resonates for the informed adult capable of appreciating a story expressed in dialogue rather than through explosions and special effects.
This film resulted in Peter O-Toole's third (of eight) nominations for Best Actor - making him the most-nominated actor never to win the award. Katherine Hepburn was superb, earning her third (of four) wins as Best Actress.
